Jewellery & Metal Design Degree Show Highlights

Duncan of Jordanstone Degree Show 2015

This summer another batch of new artists and designers are graduating from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design and following their aspirations in the creative world. To mark this occasion the University of Dundee, once again, put together their annual degree show in the college to display the work that the students have put countless hours into developing and perfecting which makes up the bulk of their final grade.

I attended the show on opening night to celebrate with the new graduates in amongst the excited and very hectic atmosphere within the college buildings. This years jewellery show was held in what is normally an animation classroom, although for the show it was much better lit than normal when animation students are huddled over light boxes busily creating animation sequences. The displays were professionally set out and really showed off the students work. Every year the jewellery department stands out as one of the best exhibitions in the college and this year was no exception. There was a wide range of work on show, from traditional metal based jewellery to contemporary ceramics, there was definitely something for everyone.

Here is a selection of the student's displays taken later in the week when it was no longer so busy you only had a few seconds to study the work before being moved on by the crowds. Not every display is featured in these photos but click the link below for all contact details of each student featured in the degree show from every discipline within the Duncan of Jordanstone.
